I read that the bee colony collapse is being caused by the pesticides being used on the huge mono-crops. The article I read suggested that people raising bees in the city may be the salvation of our bees.? Also, please be aware that much of what people think they are buying in the supermarkets these days is NOT honey, its artificial, and NOT good for you.

Not only bees? are on the decline,,but no1 talks about the beekeepers.100 yrs ago more people kept bees,I think this is due to mostly like canning,,our grand parents canned veggies,made jellies and jams.This was not past down or taken up by the newer generations of children,same with beekeeping.We have to teach younger generations to do these ‘arts’ to keep them from dying..

I think the guys comment about wondering whether GMOs, and specifically those with BT built in (my thought), could possibly be causing or contributing to the collapse is insightful. I keep bees, or rather I should say KEPT bees. My last hive died out recently. I’ve been studying the whole thing for quite some time now, and I believe it is, like Serge said, caused by a number of contributing factors, from pesticides? to pollution, to herbicides to fungicides, to BT laced GMOs. Ditch them all.
